On Sunday April 27, 2014 three of our office staff: Victoria, Shaye and Laura, participated in the 30th Annual Vancouver Sun Run.
When the three expressed interest in the Sun Run, Care Pest Control decided to sponsor the ladies in support of an active and fit lifestyle. It was the first time participating in an organized run of this length for each of the ladies. They all agreed it would be a good idea – not only to get fit – but also participate in an event that truly brings the community together.
Often we get phone calls from people wondering whether or not we can trap and relocate problem animals from their property, the short answer is: we don’t. To simply trap an animal and move it to a new spot is not nearly as effective as it sounds. There are many reasons for this, which we will explore.
Firstly, this method of practice is viewed as inhumane, causing severe stress to the animal. It also results in separating a mother from its young, causing the baby animals to starve. Often, animals get hurt in this process, typically becoming stuck in the trap.
Secondly, as a wildlife company in British Columbia, we do not have a permit to trap and relocate, in fact no one can obtain this permit in the lower mainland. Also, wildlife like skunks, squirrels and raccoons leave a scent, which even if you remove the pests, will lure new pests onto your property.
