Bedbugs are a tough pest to get rid of, and of course we at CARE are committed to coming up with the best solutions to keep them out of your home. With that said, the first service we offer in order to help you get rid of bedbugs is a detailed K9 inspection. Often people wonder why we offer this service, and what the benefits are: the most valuable reason we offer this service is that our K-9 bedbug detection teams can detect bedbugs where humans cannot.
People react differently to bedbugs, and this service is a great way to determine whether or not you have bedbugs present in your home.
With our canines you can have verifiable results, immediately- giving you that peace of mind knowing that you don’t have bedbugs, or if you do- we cater treatments to where our team has found the activity. These K9 inspections allow our technicians to hone in on particularly problematic areas when they do the treatments.
There is definitely a stigma associated with bedbugs, and with good reason. Bedbugs are very resilient little pests that feed on us while we sleep; commonly setting up camp in areas like mattresses and couches- but can be found nearly anywhere if it is a high infestation. This includes: clothes, luggage, carpets and more. Although bedbugs cannot jump or fly they can easily transfer from room to room, traveling on infested objects. Because of how easily they spread, it can be tricky to get rid of them and, with that said; bedbugs have become a large problem in large cities like Toronto and Vancouver.
Bedbugs are small, wingless insects that are usually about the size of an apple seed. After feeding, they darken. The eggs are white, and more difficult to see on surfaces, and are typically laid in cracks and crevices- and other hidden areas. They hatch after about 6 -17 days. Adults can live up to 15 months without feeding, and nymphs can live several months without food.
